How Does Enterprises’ Digital Transformation Impact the Educational Structure of Employees? Evidence from China

Digital transformation has had extensive impacts on enterprises and increased the concern that employees will be replaced by digital technologies. Achieving sustainability at human resource level is a problem for enterprises. In this case, improving academic qualifications regarded most Chinese as an approach to their competitive advantages. Based panel data of China’s listed from 2014 2020, twice fixed effects (TWFE) continuous difference-in-differences (DID) methods are used study impact enterprises’ employees’ educational structure (EES). The results show significantly positive EES. For enterprises, specifically, increases demand with undergraduate degrees reduces high school below. above remain significant after controlling endogeneity.
